What did I hear? Is summer coming to an end? Does anyone else feel like we didn’t have much of a summer with the COVID-19 pandemic, the rain and now the drought? We’ve always been told the last hooray is Labor Day Weekend, which is only a couple weekends away!
With that, kids will be going back to school or should I say starting school at home in their pajamas or sometimes going to an actual school building…. Or let’s be honest, no one has any idea if the kids are really going to go back to an actual school building or do this virtual thing for a while!
Then there is the construction season (which isn’t determined by the COVID-19 pandemic, but by the lovely Wisconsin weather…. We have a couple more months left of being able to supply hot asphalt, perform so so many projects yet and supply concrete without adding heat. I know, I said adding heat! It’s sad to think that that nasty weather may be right around the corner! So, as busy as everyone is here at MCC, Inc. we are thriving to keep everyone safe. To keep safety at the top of everyone’s to do list, we are having a quick refresher safety meeting at the end of August. For us, this is kind of the mid-season so no better time like then. Besides this refresher, our crews and team members receive tool box talks weekly to keep them 1) thinking safety, 2) make them aware of different scenarios and 3) remind them that even the smallest thing can make a difference!
